Bungee Fun at Eastwood City: What an Experience!

Jeff
Last Friday, before having dinner with other bloggers, I had the chance of trying out the new Bungee Fun at the Eastwood City. At first I thought it would be bungee jumping and then when I saw that it wasn't I felt that I got my hopes up a bit.

Eastwood City's Bungee Fun did look less challenging than bungee jumping but it wasn't as easy as pie either. It wasn't too hard that kids even tried it. It looked simple and easy until I tried it.

I like daring activities like this one. So I took on the challenge and allowed myself to be strapped in. The photo above shows the straps being tightened, making the Bungee Fun safe for anyone.

All strapped in

When I was all set, I started jumping and tried using the power from the big trampoline. The lines connected to my waist also helped and pulled me up, allowing me to leap to about 20 feet from the trampoline.

Jumping on the trampoline

The Bungee Fun can take you as high as 20 feet from the trampoline

With a leap that high I thought I would be able to do anything. So I attempted a back flip. At first try I wasn't able to land on my feet. But I immediately found success on my next attempt. So I proceeded to try a somersault. Again, at first, I wasn't able to successfully do a full turn. But as tried and tried the more I got the hang of it and eventually was able to do a back-to-back somersault and backflip.

A backflip

Attempting a somersault

And it was not easy as pie! Because at the same moment I succeeded in my attempts at acrobatics I also felt exhaustion. So I just tried to rest and jumped as high as I was able to reach. Eventually, I asked the man in charge to slacken the ropes because I was tired and needed to stop.

As I got off the Bungee Fun's trampoline I felt soreness in my calf muscles and hands, probably for being tense all through out the routine on the trampoline. When I got in the car and started to turn the car's steering wheel I felt other arm and shoulder muscles that were sore. So the Bungee Fun really isn't that easy when you try some acrobatics on it.

A kid, trying the Bungee Fun at the Eastwood City

Other kids and some ladies tried it, too, after I got off. Over all, it is a great addition to Eastwood City's entertainment offers. For P120 anyone can try the Bungee Fun at Eastwood City - men who want to be dared, ladies who want to overcome their fear and kids who want to enjoy this safe and new entertainment at Eastwood City.

The Bungee Fun is located in front of Pho Hoa, beside Dulcinea Eastwood City.

In the Dark

Jeff
There was a time when this blog of mine would appear naturally in Google's search results for various keywords. But for many months now I have noticed it's volatility in the SERPs. I do not understand why.

I have checked my tracking reports and have seen that this blog has received so many visits from Mountain View, California, the home of G**gle. My question is, does it have something to do with that? Have they been using seo tools on my blog to keep me down the SERPs? The problem is, if they did, then I do not know the reason why.

I just hope that if that was true, they would let me know why. I hate being in the dark.

I'm Back in the Top 200 in Entrecard

Jeff
After just dropping 300 Entrecards daily for three days straight my www.aspacio.net account in Entrecard is now on the top 200 of the most popular. The reason why I noticed is because I use the top 300 most popular Entrecarders list in dropping 300 Entrecards.

If you read my post on my other blog about hot to drop 300 Entrecards fast and its effect on your blog, you'll understand why I put time and effort into it. Even if it sometimes robs me of time to write about the best rosacea treatment I still try my best to drop 300 Entrecards consistently. It becomes addictive at some point, but i am not addicted. When I am very busy, I do not drop Entrecards. That's how simple it is for me.

So I am just very happy that after missing a few days of not being able to drop 300 Entrecards I quickly got back to the top 200. Yaaay!

Dinner With Bloggers at Yoshinoya

Jeff
Last Wednesday we enjoyed a sumptuous feast at Yoshinoya located at the Upper Ground Floor, Bldg. A, SM Mega Mall. It was not my first time to taste the dishes from Yoshinoya. It was one of the places where my wife and I had lunch once or twice after picking her up from a Bible study at Christ's Commission Fellowship.

My wife and I both love Japanese food and Yoshinoya is also not the only Japanese restaurant that we have tried. But what sets this Japanese fast food from the others is that they have been in the Japanese food business for a very long time - 112 years. They are very popular in Japan and have become well known for their Beef Gyudon rice bowl and the fact that they do not serve raw seafood unlike most Japanese restaurants.

Yoshinoya's Gyoza

Another side dish from Yoshinoya, fried chicken and coleslaw

I enjoyed all the food that I tried which were the following: Gyoza, fried chicken with coleslaw, a jumbo meal called Jumbo B which has Beef Gyudon and Beef Yakiniku, rice and mongo sprouts), a refreshing glass of Apple Green tea for my drinks and Coffee Jelly for dessert. I was able to finish everything that was served and was so full after. I felt that I've gained weight and would need to look for cheap adipex to get my weight back.

Yoshinoya's Jumbo meal has three variants, Jumbo A, B and C: (A) chicken teriyaki, (B) beef yakiniku and (C) ebi tempura, each combined with beef gyudon, rice and mongo sprouts. The photo above is Jumbo C

Seriously, I had a great time and I enjoyed their food. I did notice, too, that they have improved the interior design of their restaurant which looked less of a fast food and almost close to a Japanese fine dining restaurant, except for the usual fast food tables and chairs. But, overall, Yoshinoya is a great Japanese fast food alternative. Thanks to Yoshinoya and Rowena for the lovely treat.

Evangelism Training at SBC Makati

Jeff
It's a few minutes past 11:00am and I just finished teaching the first part of our evangelism training at church. The 10 church members who attended the training are now trying out the John 3:16 method on each other.

Later, I will be sharing the "Romans Road" method and will ask them to try it on each other. Our goal is to train them for evangelism and our training will commence with all of us going out to households around the church and share the gospel to them

Gaining Weight

Jeff
I'm really starting to feel that I'm gaining weight. This past few nights have been spent eating dinner in restaurants (watch out for blog entries about these) with blogger friends and friends in church.

I really need to watch the food I intake. If only they were all foods that burn fat then I wouldn't have to be concerned about it. It’s just great that I have the opportunity to play in a basketball league at the Marist Alumni Basketball League. At least I would have some activities to help me sweat the fats out.

Join the 1st Asia Internet Congress Philippines

Jeff
As the world is made smaller and smaller through the internet, the opportunities for those who have invested on properties in the world wide web through websites, pages and blogs become greater and greater. In fact, the number of internet users continue to grow. In the Philippines, the number of internet subscribers have greatly increased in the past three years and a telecoms company predicts that this number will grow ten times in the next five years. Directly proportional to this is the increasing number of social media users. With these observations, businesses and entrepreneurs are just crazy to not ride the wave of internet marketing.

But, the good news is that there are entrepreneurs and businessmen who have become successful through internet marketing. What is more is that they are ready to share some secrets of internet marketing.

The 1st Asia Internet Congress Philippines

On March 4 and 5, 2010 from 8:30 am -5:30 pm at the Crowne Plaza Galleria, Philippines, the 1st Asia Internet Congress Philippines will be held. They will be featuring the sharpest internet marketing minds of today and talking about topics like internet trends and opportunities, search engine marketing, copywriting, blogging, corporate branding in the internet and many others. This is one event I don't want to miss!

For more information and to register, you can visit www.asiainternetcongressphils.com.

Just Thinking Out Loud

Jeff
This year, I am turning 35. The more I get closer to 40 the more I feel the urgency to go out and exercise, burn those fats and try to stay fit.

That would mean staying under the sun longer and getting my old skin id back (yes, my skin was much darker before). It would also mean losing some time for other things. But, with the sports that I am into lately I am still able to force myself to sweat some fat out but not keep myself fit. I want to be able to play basketball and football until I am 45. Dream on! I'm just thinking out loud.

Saving Up for a Car by Great Wall Motors

Jeff
We are now starting to save. My wife and I are saving for a brand new Great Wall Peri. Great Wall Motors is a Chinese brand but is now available in the Philippines. They introduced 6 models last year, namely the Hover (a CUV), Wingle (a pick up truck), Cowry (a van), Cool Bear, Florid and the Peri.

A Red Peri by Great Wall Motors Philippines

The nice things about the newly introduced vehicles are 1) they are not as expensive as other cars in the same class and even have better features, 2) the ones that have gasoline engines are EURO 4 passed and those with diesel are EURO 3 passed, 3) the entry level model, the Peri is fully equipped with safety features such as ABS and EBD, dual airbags and side impact beams.

Brand new cars have a 3-year warranty or a warranty of up to 100,000 km. The cars of Great Wall Motors Philippines have the best value for money because the features one gets are all worth more than what is paid for. Their parts are very much available here and costs like the other extreme of Ferrari parts.

If things go well with our income through the internet we will be able to drive a brand new Peri by Great Wall Motors soon.

No Car On Our Driveway

Jeff
Last night when I got home from officiating a wedding at The Oasis in San Juan, I was relieved to see that spot where I usually park was available. That spot is actually in front of our gate and sadly, sometimes there is a car there that would park intentionally and block our driveway.

I have thought about getting a driveway alarm that would warn those who park on the driveway and catch their attention. Hopefully, the next few days can be enjoyed without any car parking on our spot.

Lead the Change 2010 on February 17, 2010

Jeff

Even with the coming elections, the need for real and effective change catalysts became greater. Many people try to find a place to sit in the government, promise or claim to create effective and lasting change in the country, but even as Filipinos hope for improvement, many are still doubtful and are frustrated.

Naturally, individuals vent out and complain, but some to the extent of whining and not doing anything about the problems and needs seen around. But, what if there’s a better way to go about these problems? Like, instead of complaining, why not do something to create change?

The 2010 Honda Accord: Power With fuel Efficiency

Jeff
Yes, that is how I would describe the Honda Accord 2010 - powerful but fuel efficient. It is what I basically like about this mean machine. But, there is more to know about it. Read below to know more about it.

The 2010 Honda Accord

Press Release:

Honda’s highly acclaimed premium sedan adds new dimension to rich styling with the 2010 Accord. Presenting a well-appointed interior design for the latest Accord, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. offers an enhanced model that carries out what the market asks for. Committed to provide ultimate customer satisfaction by paying regular attention to consumers’ voice, the 3.5 liter Accord is now fitted with sleek and supple BLACK LEATHER SEATS.

Inside the 2010 Honda Accord

The 2010 Honda Accord’s interior is delicately crafted with only the finest materials to draw out an air of opulence that matches its bold and sophisticated exterior. The Accord’s plush black leather seats provide comforting luxury that is also easy to maintain. Controls for audio and air conditioning system are also improved for better functionality and ease of use.

Beyond great styling, the Honda Accord also offers flawless performance that heeds your need for power without sacrificing fuel economy. The Honda Accord’s high caliber features make it perfect for those in control and those keen on substance. Powered by the i-VTEC (Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control), the 3.5 liter variant ably responds to your heart’s desire with its maximum power capacity of 275 ps @ 6200 rpm. Such variant is also equipped with the latest advancement in fuel-efficient technology called, Variable Cylinder Management (VCM).

With the VCM system, optimal power output, promising fuel economy and lesser harmful emissions in actual driving situations become possible by simply closing down cylinders when not needed. VCM tailors the number of cylinders to be activated to match one’s driving requirements. Such seamless activation and deactivation of cylinders from 6 to either 4 or 3 brings about the coining of its nickname, VCM 6 4 3.

"During start-up, acceleration, high-speed driving along North Luzon Expressway or uphill climbing to Baguio City, the engine operates on all 6 cylinders to unleash the full power potential of the Accord. For mid-speed driving along Subic or climbing a moderately inclined road, the engine deactivates 2 cylinders and runs on 4 cylinders. Meanwhile, fuel economy is optimized while cruising around town on moderate speed or driving downhill from Tagaytay. It is when the engine runs at 3 cylinder mode while the other 3 cylinders are closed down. It’s like having three engines in one with the VCM system! " said Mr. Voltaire Gonzales, Department Head for Vehicle Sales and Corporate Communications of Honda Cars Philippines, Inc.

The ingenuity behind Honda’s VCM system actually complements the VTEC concept. VTEC adjusts valve timing and valve opening depending on the driving situation to optimize fuel economy and power output. Honda uses VTEC mechanism in closing down cylinder as it deactivates and closes the cylinder intake and exhaust valves. For inactive cylinders, spark plugs continue to fire up to keep the cylinders clean.

The 2010 Honda Accord comes in refined colors that accentuate its clear-cut lines and over-all modern finish: Alabaster Silver (2.4 liter variant only), Bold Beige (2.4 liter variant only), Polished Metal, Night Hawk Black and Brilliant White Pearl (3.5 liter variant only). It is available in two variants: 2.4 liter with automatic transmission comes with Php 1,680,000 price tag while 3.5 liter variant with automatic transmission is priced at Php 2,030,000. Additional Php 20,000 is applicable for the exclusive Brilliant White Pearl color.

Experience for yourself the Honda Accord’s most advanced technologies in its class. Visit any of Honda’s 26 dealerships nationwide or check out www.hondaphil.com for more details. Just always remember to try before you buy. Be smart! Test drive!

Having Second Thoughts on a 1987 Mitsubishi Lancer

Jeff
I am thinking about buying a car at a low price from a friend. His car is a 1987 Mitsubishi Lancer. The thing, though, is that it was submerged in river water when typhoon Ondoy hit. It was in good running condition before it went under water.

My friend's 1987 Mitsubishi Lancer (view from the front)

My friend's 1987 Mitsubishi Lancer (view from the rear)

I hesitate to invest on it because it has been a long time since Ondoy. But, I am planning to ask my mechanic, not the pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney, if he can still make it run again. The good thing is this car doesn’t have a computer box so that will lessen the cost considerably. My friend also told me that they never attempted to start its engine or open its doors. And that’s the way it looks – abandoned since the typhoon. But, I think that is better than if they attempted to start the engine.

The other thing I am considering is the price of course. I think the price my friend is giving me is still too much considering its present condition. But I do not want to wait too long because someone might strike a deal before I do. I just need to estimate how much it would cost to bring it back to good, usable, running condition before I buy it. I plan to eventually sell it, too.

Valentine's day Memories

Jeff
It’s seven days to go and it’s Valentine’s Day again. Valentine’s Day brings rich memories to me – the day I announced to my friends in church my relationship with my girlfriend, Jennie, who is now my wife. It was twelve years ago (this Valentine’s day), February 14, 2008 and I remember so well, we attended a concert of Ron Kenoly and we were with our peers in church.

Since then, I have always tried my best to make Valentine’s Day exciting for my wife by always coming up with surprises. Of course, there have been times when I have not been successful, but most of the time, my wife liked what I did for her.

The Ability to Produce Wealth

Jeff
In a previous blog entry I mentioned how this year’s start has been a good one in terms of online opportunities. Income has been more steady online and we have paid off all our debts within the two years that we have been earning from blogging.

It took us that long, almost two years, because that’s how deep we were in debt. But, the beginning of 2010 is a complete turn around. As debts have been paid off since the third quarter of last year, we have began to aggressively save money. There are a few things that we are saving for and the most important of all is our son’s educational expenses for the next school year. He will be finishing his pre-school level by March and will be moving on to the reading program of the School of Tomorrow system (we are homeschooling him, by the way).

The other things are a secret major purchase that we are praying for (you’ll know it when it happens) and other things that my wife and I like. I personally want to make a visit to a good hardware store similar to Baldwin hardware and invest on some electric tools that will make woodworking easier for me.

But, even as we experience this pouring out of blessings we do not forget that it is God who gives us the ability to produce wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18) so we are putting our hope in Him and not on anything He is using to bless us. To Him be the glory!
