The Rush That Soccer Brings

Jeff
Today, after more or less four months, I was able to play football again. Our team, Marikina United FC, which meets at the Marikina Sports Center regularly, had a tune up game against Claret Alumni. It felt so good to be in my soccer shoes again and just run, kick and create tactics on how to get the ball into that goal together with my team mates. There's that certain rush to it, one that I don't get from basketball, badminton or any other sport that I have ever played. I guess only those who've played and really enjoyed soccer can really understand this feeling. It's just nice to feel that feeling again.

By the way, don't miss the finals of Euro 2008 on Monday early morning here (Sunday night European time) - Germany vs Spain. To catch up on what happened during the Group stage, quarter finals and semis, you can check out my other blog (that's how crazy I am with football) Football Videos and Pictures.

Blessing From Above

Jeff
Tonight, as I was looking at my account history at Paypal, I began computing and added all the money I have withdrawn from my account since I began blogging last January and I was surprised to find out that I have been averaging about P5,000 amount in withdrawal. But of course I did not withdraw every month, I only withdrew last February, March, April and the last one was this month, but that was the average additional income that blogging has given us. I am blessed that God has used this as a way to provide the other needs of my family (in addition to what my wife makes from her blogs). I remember that it was late December of 2007 when we started praying for this and God has really answered our prayers.

James 1:17 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. "

Adverts of SocialSpark

Jeff
As our readers must have noticed, I do have sponsored posts in this blog every now and then. I have tried other pay for blogging platforms and there are just companies that can be disappointing to say the least. If their available opportunities are once every week or month, they would only be of casino and pharmacy advertisements. I often pass these kind of opportunities up. I honestly don’t know very many people who grab these kind of opps and I can not blame them.

I am glad to have signed up to SocialSpark.com. This is the most recent platform that I have joined. And I could say that most, if not all opportunities, I can relate to. Which includes, Dockers, Chevy, movies and even TV series.

Given the fact that I am a sporty type of person, I would love to be able to find more advertisers that would give opportunities that have to do with soccer like Diadora, Nike, Adidas and even energy drinks. Being able to write about stuffs we love encourages us bloggers to write better and really have a great time doing it.

What more can I say? Bloggers all around the world wide web are all waiting for vast opportunities to write about. And we are glad even as SocialSpark is relatively a newborn platform, it does give out opportunities more than we have ever expected. I hope to see more opportunities to come up in the future.

Meeting My Cousin

Jeff

It was great to meet my cousin, who grew up in Colorado, for the first time. When I was still in high school I remember seeing pictures of him sent to my aunts and other cousins. We spent only a few hours getting to know each other but every moment was meaningful and we were glad to have him for even just one night in our house. I hope to see him again, either here in our country if he visits again or in the US if I get a chance to go there in the future.

If We Were to Relocate

Jeff
Hiding, I suppose, would be a very difficult life. But the eventuality of becoming witness to a crime, with the increasing crime rates, a person may be left with no other choice. USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight is all about this and stars Mary, an agent for the Federal Witness Protection Program. The premiere was on June 1.

If I was placed in a situation where I became a witness to a crime and would need to relocate under the witness protection program I would choose to relocate to Miami, Florida. It is one place where a lot of tourists come and aside from its beautiful beach, I’m sure it will be easy to blend in the crowd that constantly come to this vacation spot. I’m sure that if my family and I were given a life here we would find moments to enjoy this place.

The Power of Rokku

Jeff
In support of Bleach the Movie which will be shown in theaters on June 11th and June 12th, I choose the name of Rokku Gakushi which means “rock musician”. I chose this powerful manga character name because of the powerful following that rock music has. This character uses his influence thorough the power of his music to influence young people to make the right decisions in their lives.

The movie Bleach is adapted from the best-selling manga series by Tite Kubo. Tickets to the movie are now available in their site. Simply enter your zip code in the “Find Theaters” box in their site.

Drive Thru Service: Jollibee vs McDonald's

Jeff
Just this morning, on my way to Makati, I ordered breakfast at Jollibee Libis' drive thru. For the second time I experienced disappointing drive thru service. The last time, I had to wait for at least five minutes after paying for my order at the first window. You'd have to take note that it was after the payment order - that doesn't include the long line that ordered before me and the time each vehicle had to wait. Well, this morning it was worse because I decided not to order anymore but I suffered waiting in line. In short, I just experienced going through the line and got delayed in the traffic there. The reason I changed my mind was because my breakfast order wasn't available and they asked me if I was willing to wait for 10 minutes. Why else did I order drive thru? Exactly! To save time. But instead it just cost me time since I was in a hurry. I then proceeded to McDonald's inside Global City. I experienced witing in line also but as always, there was no waiting after paying for my order because in the next window, my order was already waiting for me. Is it simply because McDonald's system is better? Well, whatever the reason is it's too bad because I really prefer Jollibee's taste over McDonald's. I guess we just can't win 'em all.
