Faith Factor: A Message Series on Faith

Jeff
This first two months of the year I am preaching about the topic of faith and we’ve entitled our message series “Faith Factor”. My prayer is that in this next few weeks we would experience some stretching of our faith as individual believers and as a church as well.

God has over 7,000 promises waiting to be claimed like a disability insurance that has already been paid for. Faith is the key to start experiencing these promises.

Our theme passage for the beginning of this year is

Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

and I am expectant of the miracles that God would do in our midst this year.

Upgrading in Martial Arts for Ministry

Jeff
My restart of training in Aikido last December in Club 650 isn’t just another way of reducing belly fat, or just another hobby. It is actually part of personal development so I can continue to train others in our Freestyle Martial Arts ministry called Real Warriors. It is my personal upgrade so I can continue to offer new techniques.

It is the art that I want to grow old with also as it is not as physically demanding as that of Karate and Judo although it is also lethal. Today, I got my ACP (Aikikai Center of the Philippines) membership card and by God’s grace I hope to continue this until I retire, much like the many black belts in Japan who are very old men but still practicing and training in the art of Aikido which was founded by Morihei Ueshiba.

Our Holiday Gatherings

Jeff
During the holidays I was so thankful to have spent time with my family and my wife’s relatives. Dining out together has always been what we enjoyed doing and I just want to share two photos of our family gatherings. The holidays did make us gain weight but no enough for me to have to use top diet pills.

This was a photo I took using my Nokia N8 when we had lunch at the House of Kare-Kare Bar, Grille & Restaurant along Sumulong Highway in Mambugan, Antipolo City.

This other photo was taken when we had dinner at Max’s Restaurant. I was glad that my father came to Manila for the holidays and that we were able to spend time.

I Broke My Nokia N8 Stereo Headset

Jeff
I sat or stepped on my Nokia N8 stereo headset and one of its earpiece got broken. Unforunatley, physical damage voids the 6-month warranty and the only option is to buy a new pair. But, the problem is there is now original N8 stereo headset available anywhere, not even in Nokia stores. I thought maybe I should have just waited for the htc desire HD or just got the Samsung Galaxy S, but maybe their accessories aren’t that available, too. The only available option is to buy a standard Nokia headset and the other farfetched option is to buy from another Asian country where the Nokia N8 is available.
