This Friday is my son’s 7th birthday and the day after is the celebration. I’ve been asking him what gift he wants for his birthday and am not at all surprised to hear that the toys he wants are those that are fit for a boy his age and not a Barbie or a hello kitty themed toy. He wants a red bike and a light saber. That would mean that I will need to start teaching him to balance on a bicycle pretty soon. I am excited to start the cycling lessons with him.

If you have ever bought roses for a loved one on Valentine’s Day, most likely, you have noticed that roses are significantly more expensive on Valentine’s Day than they are at any other time of the year. This fact alone may make you think that a great Valentine’s Day gift has to be expensive. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. You can find really inexpensive gifts that your loved one will greatly appreciate.

Consider the roses we previously mentioned. Buying your loved one a dozen roses on Valentine’s Day can be extremely expensive, like almost triple the original price. However, there are other ways to give flowers without emptying your bank account. One way to make giving flowers more affordable is to consider giving a gift of a single red rose. This is not only an incredibly dramatic gift but it is also very affordable.
Another way to make giving flowers on Valentine’s Day more affordable is to consider flowers which are not so popular on Valentine’s Day. These types of flowers are likely to be much less expensive. As long as it is a flower your partner can appreciate it will make a great gift for Valentine’s Day.
There is another unique and inexpensive way to give a flower related gift on Valentine’s Day. You can give your partner a seeds or bulbs for her favorite flowers and pots to grow these flowers in. This is a great gift idea because it is original and it shows that you really know what your partner likes. It is also extremely affordable.
I guess for me, I would have to think of a great Valentine gift for my wife soon. Definitely not flowers, because I know from experience that she doesn't enjoy flowers. I do have an idea already, but I won't write it down here because she might read this and find out about it. :)

Today, I went to Divisoria, a local shopping place in Manila where people buy anything at low price. I went there to buy some decors for our Christmas tree which we set up yesterday. It was so bare yesterday, it only had lights on it. But today I bought three sets of decorations and I got a dozen of each Christmas decor for only P900 (a little less than $20). If I went to a regular mall I would have gotten the decorations for about P1,500 (a little more than $30). In addition to the decorations I was able to do some early shopping for my son's Christmas gifts and it cost me just $2 for toys he really likes. I can't wait to bring my wife along next time for her Christmas shopping.
