"A King Is Born" by Tom Ingles | List of Instrumentalists/Musicians

Jeff
I first heard the song "A King is Born" when I was in college and we played it in our church music team - or at least we tried. If you listen to the music you will be challenged and inspired by the skill of the musicians.

"A King is Born" was originally sung by Tom Ingles in the album "We Are One" by Integrity's Hosanna released in 1993. The chords are very simple actually (C--F-G- pattern), but the way the musicians played the music was amazing.

Abraham Laboriel was so fun to watch as he played and Justo Almario as well. I'm not sure if the guitarist was playing a gretsch electromatic or a epiphone but he did just right and played appropriately.

List of popular musicians for the song "A King is Born" from "We Are One" album.

Percussions: Alex Acuña
Drums: Carl Albrecht
Bass: Abraham Laboriel
Saxophone: Justo Almario
Keyboards: Tom Brooks
Guitars: Danny Bridgens (?)

Lyrics of "Kailan Pa Man" by Arnel de Pano: Papuri Seven

Jeff
"Kailan Pa Man" from Papuri Seven (7), asong by Arnel de Pano, was one of my favorites because of its lyrics and its music, back in the early 90's, just a few years after I made a decision to follow Christ. Back then, our church was still in its progress stage in terms of the methods used to reach out to people.

With the voice of Arnel de Pano singing the words of one of the Papuri Seven songs ("Kailan Pa Man"), I was encouraged and was also challenged to constantly be sensitive to God's work in my life. This song communicates a believer's recognition of God's faithful work in his own life. I just want to share this Tagalog Contemporary Christian song and its lyrics.

Kailan Pa Man
(by Arnel de Pano)

Kailan pa man, Ikaw ang aasahan
Kailan pa man, Ikaw ang siyang lakas
Ang tanging tanggulan ano man ang dumaan

Kailan man, O, Diyos, pag-ibig Mo
Kaluluwa'y ligtas dahil sa'Yo
Kailan man, buhay man Iyong inilaan
Nang ako'y maligtas sa'king kapahamakan
Dakila Ka, O, Diyos, kailan pa man

I hope these lyrics encourage Filipino believers to recognize God's love that endures forever. For a copy of the music of "Kailan Pa Man" by Arnel de Pano you can check out Papuri Seven in FEBC.

Your Name High Video with Lyrics: This Year's Hit at Camp

Jeff
Every year, a song sticks to the hearts and minds of those who attend camp. Last year, it was the song Hero by Superchick. This year, there are three songs that were worth remembering. But my personal favorite, and I think most would consider it their favorite also, was "Your Name High" from Hillsong Music Australia. Here is the video of their song and its lyrics.

Your Name High
Hillsong Music Australia

Verse I:
Your innocence forsaken
Upon that cross
You gave Yourself for us
Carried into Your freedom

Our broken past replaced in
A second chance
The chains have come undone
Death defied in the Father's love

Chorus:
We are living to make
Your Name high Jesus
Living to make Your Name high Jesus
You gave what the world couldn't offer us

Say what they want
Say what they want
We are free
Woooh-oooh!

Verse 2:
The atmosphere is changing
Oh can You hear
The people rising up
In the hope of Your freedom

Our former ways are breaking
We seek Your face
God let Your kingdom come
In our praises be lifted up

Bridge:
With eyes on high we praise
You
And with one voice we come
together
Our one desire to praise You
And lift You up in our
surrender
